Chloe : Elbow dysplasia

Chloe is a golden retriever who became lame in one of her front legs when she was about six months old.

Her own vet was unable to resolve the problem with pain relief, and x-rays showed no obvious problems.

She was referred to us for further investigation, and we discovered that she also had elbow pain.

We then took CT scans of her elbow, which showed that she had a small chip in the cartilage and bone on the edge of her elbow joint. We removed this using arthroscopy, which is a key-hole surgery used to repair joints.

Chloe’s lameness improved over time, and now she no longer needs to take pain relief medication.
